Hi! I am Daniela and I want to share with you a few things that you can visit in The City of Brancusi, one of the greatest European sculptors.
First ones are his sculptures which are aligned from west to east (from sunrise to sunset) and they are a tribute to the fallen heroes of World War II.
You start from The Table Of Silence (which represent the las meal before war), and you walk on The Chairs Alley (which represents the road of war to death), to the Gate Of Kiss (which represent the gate between life and death) until you will get to The Endless Column (which represent the eternity). This walk is only 1753 m. And it is a very relaxing one. When I am home, because I was born in The City Of Brancusi (or Targu Jiu – the actual name), I love to take a walk on this road. Is like The Freedom Trail in Boston (I will write about it too), but shorter.
These are the main attractions, but we have more.
We have for example The Museum Of Art (which are the ex-protocol house of Nicolae Ceausescu during communism in my region and it is one of the most beautiful buildings in the city), The History Museum (and I think it is very important to know the history and the culture of a place when you visit it) and The Island (it is a beautiful island from where you can have a beautiful view of the mountains – it is amazing, it really is).
Oh, and you should try our food. We have such a tasty food.
But, if you want to know more about these things and you want more reasons so you can be convinced that this is one of those cities that you should visit in your life, I recommend you to read my entire article.
